A restaurant that cannot be missed in Singapore is Jumbo Seafood.

There are multiple locations but my preferred choices are the Dempsey branch and also the one at Ion Orchard because of their convenience.

Pictured above is one of most Singapore’s iconic dishes, the chili crab.

If you love sweet and tangy with a little bit of spice, the sauce will definitely please your tastebuds. I loved dipping the fried bread in to the sauce– absolutely delicious!

For those who prefer a buttery and salty taste, opt for the black pepper crab which is equally as good.

Fried Rice.

You can get it anywhere, right? Panda Express, any Chinese takeout place, make it at home, etc.

The fried rice at Jumbo is on another level! I loved this seafood combination fried rice which had fresh shrimp, scallops, and crab meat mixed with egg. It’s simple but really tasty and not overly heavy.

I also tried these two dishes : Scallops wrapped in yam and a dish called ‘Drunken Prawns’.

The scallops were O-K for me. I found the fried layer of yam that surrounds the scallops a tad bit too sweet.

However, I really liked the drunken prawns which is basically live fresh shrimp boiled in a kind of herbal rice wine broth. Apparently, the broth is supposed to be good for your health. The highlight of this dish for me though were the sweet and succulent shrimp! They were very fresh and the shell peels right off.

If you love to eat seafood, definitely visit Jumbo.

As I write this post, I am craving the chili crab.

If you ever visit the Dempsey location and have another stomach for dessert like me, head over to Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, which is located right across the restaurant.
